EV Battery Fires Safety Summit 2021
EV Battery Fires Safety Summit 2021
Taking Place Online on 25th & 26th February 2021
|
December 2020: Hyundai Kona EV set to stop sales in Korea following battery fires and recalls, report says
September 2020:
BMW initiated a recall in the United States of 10 different BMW and
Mini plug-in hybrid models because of a risk of fire caused by debris
that may have gotten into battery cells during manufacturing.
October 2020:
The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened an
investigation into reports of apparently spontaneous battery fires in
Chevrolet Bolt EVs.
Battery fires are a growing challenge as EV makers everywhere race to extend range and promote higher-speed charging. Such
technology improvements are necessary, but the demand for steady
improvement can put EV batteries under tremendous pressure, turning
innovations into potential hazards.
Automotive IQ’s Global EV Battery Fire Safety Summit 2021 is the world’s first & only event focusing on this hugely important and timely topic as automakers around the world grapple with battery fire risks. |
Key Topics being addressed include:
- Optimizing Battery Management Systems to Detect Battery Malfunction
- Energy Density & Thermal Stability of Lithium-Ion & Solid State Batteries
- Using Diagnostics to Predict & Control Battery Safety Incidents
- Battery Safety Hazards, Guidelines, Equipment and Design
- Optimizing Supply Chains at Every Level to Mitigate Battery Safety Incidents
- Current & Future Safety Testing Standards for EV Batteries
- Post-Incident Investigations in China and US & Key Lessons Learned
